Growing up in South Africa taught Sharon to recognize beauty in diversity and see the unique gifts each person has to offer. She values the importance of sharing stories and taking time to listen well. At the core of Sharon lies a deep sense of freedom with a desire to choose an intentional, authentic life. Over a decade ago, tragedy touched her life through the loss of her son. Out of this devastating loss, she found her calling as a Chaplain. Sharon loves her work of offering grief support to families experiencing similar loss. She considers it an honor to provide a safe place for people to share their stories and feel heard. Sharon is grateful to work in a sacred field that inspires and heals. A few of Sharon’s favorite things: The smell of rain, a cup of tea, bookstores and books, sunshine on her face and sand between her toes, creating in her art journal, roaring fireplaces, star gazing, hearing her girls laugh, and deep conversations with friends.
